About us
We’re Chad and Wendy Lauterbach, and we’re so grateful you’ve found your way to Oak Shores Resort. In 2025, we’ll be celebrating 25 years of marriage – along with 25 years in the careers that have helped shape who we are. Chad has worked construction, specializing in fire and water restoration, and Wendy has dedicated her time to the Plumbers and Steamfitters training department.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, Chad started dreaming about owning a resort… and after some convincing and a little leap of faith, Wendy said “let’s do it”!
These days we’re juggling it all – continuing our careers while also running the resort we love. It’s a lot of work, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Every guest we meet becomes a part of our story, and we feel truly lucky to play a small part in your vacation memories.
Whether you’re here to fish, relax, or just roast a perfect marshmallow, we’re so excited to have you at Oak Shores Resort!
We are so blessed to have a pretty great family. Our daughter Kylee is married to her wonderful husband Zach, and together they’ve given us three beautiful grandbabies – Mack, Nora and Barrett (who we lovingly call Bear).
We also have two pretty great sons, Dalton and Mikey. Dalton does a great job keeping things running smoothly at home when we are at the resort, while Mikey is a big help around the resort! You might see him lending a hand with everything from yard work, to fixing stuff, to helping our guests put their boats in the water.
Oak Shores is a family effort through and through, and we feel so blessed to share this journey with the people we love most. We hope when you’re here, you feel like part of the family too!
