The 17,000-acre Chippewa Flowage offers some of the best fishing in Northern Wisconsin. Anglers can target musky, walleye, crappie, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, and panfish throughout the lake’s many islands, bays, and shorelines. With over 140 islands and hundreds of secluded bays, fishermen can almost always find a calm, quiet place to cast a line.
During your stay at Oak Shores, you’ll quickly understand why so many visitors fall in love with the “Big Chip.” With 17,000 acres of water, more than 140 islands, and over 200 miles of shoreline — with only about 8% developed — the Flowage offers a true Northwoods experience.
Even if fishing isn’t your main goal, the lake is rich with wildlife and natural beauty. It’s common to spot bald eagles soaring overhead, white-tailed deer along the shoreline, playful river otters, black bears, and countless other species that call the Flowage home.
Whether you’re here to fish, explore, or simply relax on the water, the Chippewa Flowage offers something for everyone.
